Face to face with the champion

She certainly needs no introduction Valentina Giacinti, striker for Roma and the national women’s soccer team; a great sportswoman with whom Eat Pink immediately found an understanding. Healthy and active lifestyle, attention to wellness, grit and desire to improve are all shared values, so much so that just over a year ago Valentina became part of Team Rosa, an Eat Pink initiative that aims to spread more and more the importance of a balanced diet.

We wanted to pay tribute to the partnership with this athlete with infectious grit by asking her a few questions.

Let’s get to know each other better!

Hi Valentina, thank you for availability. Would you like to tell us something about what your typical day is like?

The first thing I do in the morning is have coffee and then breakfast.

In the mid-morning I go to the camp and train, finishing around 2:30 p.m., after which I eat together with my teammates. After I finish lunch I go home and often I do post-workout recovery by stretching or using specific recovery machines; sometimes it happens that I don’t do it because I rest: it depends a lot on the type of training I do and the pace of the week.

Around 7 p.m. I start cooking and then have dinner at 8:30 p.m. After dinner I relax: sometimes I play with the Playstation or watch something on Netflix. At 11 p.m. I usually go to sleep.

Tell us: does a professional sportswoman of your level get to enjoy some time off?

Yes, I manage, but not too much because I am always busy with recovery, which is crucial for us sportsmen. I enjoy my free time more the day after a game, because we often don’t do training; then I like to walk around the city.

What values do you value about sports, even with a view to sending a message to younger people?

Sports are very important for everyone, both for physical health and personal development-I think it helps people grow, face difficulties and overcome them. In addition, sports play a key role in socializing and getting to know people.
