Eat Pink for the planet

Eat Pink for the planet

What Eat Pink has made with the environment is a serious commitment, which is put into practice on several fronts and with determination, convinced that everyone must do their part, including companies. As evidence of Eat Pink’s commitment to this virtuous path, the CO2 emissions of one product belonging to each line were investigated.

A path of sustainability and sensitivity

The consulting firm ClimatePartner calculated for Eat Pink the CO₂ emissions related to two products: 450 g bacon tenderloin from the Already Cooked line and 1 kg meat from the Quelli tender line, based on an international quality protocol. The so-called product carbon footprint was calculated by taking into account the life cycle stages (except end consumer use) of the product: from raw material sourcing to disposal, via processing, packaging, transportation etc. In this type of data analysis we focus on all those steps and processes that can be controlled by the manufacturer, while the stages of use by the customer are not considered.

The result was a corporate first step in understanding where to focus concrete actions to go to reduce environmental impact. ClimatePartner can, in fact, guide the brand on a path for climate action through specific reduction measures such as, for example, evaluating the use of green energy, working with suppliers who take climate actions in our supply chain such as using resources and feed from sustainable suppliers or as close to the plant as possible.
