Fighting food waste: donations report 2023

Fighting food waste: donations report 2023

In the landscape of corporate partnerships aimed at sustainability and corporate social responsibility, few collaborations stand out for consistency and concreteness like the one between Eat Pink and Regusto. While the 100% Italian pink pork brand has been committed to providing quality, healthy and nutritious products for years, the Regusto platform proves to be an efficient conduit for implementing concrete practices to combat food waste.

A sustainability-oriented partnership

In fact, it has been some time now that these two entities have joined together in a collaboration (always carried out with continuity, great results and success) that promotes a more responsible management of food resources: both believe in the importance of the circular economy and the possibility of generating a positive social impact, which falls within the scope of sustainability.

Recap of 2023 donations: an ongoing commitment

During 2023, as in the previous year, Eat Pink made a number of significant product donations through the Regusto platform, in line with the principles of corporate social responsibility. These donations supported local communities in need and at the same time supported the decrease of CO2 emissions, a key action in terms of environmental impact.
In total, 650 kilograms of pink meat equivalent to 1,300 meals distributed by nonprofits, active at the territorial and national level, were donated by Eat Pink in 2023.

In terms of environmental impact, the result was also positive, thanks to the non-wasting of products: 4,082 kg of CO2 was avoided and 1,235m3 of water and 1,886m2 of soil were saved. The donations thus contributed to CO2 offsetting in the food sector.

Toward a sustainable future

The partnership between Eat Pink and Regusto represents a model of concrete commitment to more sustainable management of food and environmental resources: the approach demonstrates that it is possible to promote corporate sustainability while supporting society and combating food waste. A fundamental and effective virtuous circle to build a better world to live in every day.
